Magician BJ Hickman Appears at The Massabesic Audubon Center

The Massabesic Audubon Center Summer Camp children were treated to an educational and entertaining program about Recycling recently (Monday, July 23). The show, presented by New Hampshire magician BJ Hickman, was sponsored by Waste Management.

The Massabesic Audubon Center is located on a historic farm site in Auburn, just minutes from downtown Manchester. It is bordered by 130 acres of rolling fields and mature deciduous forest with woodland wetlands, a pond, streams, and marshes. The site has been preserved as a wildlife sanctuary that encompasses a diverse array of upland habitats. There are more than five miles of trails that lead to scenic Lake Massabesic, and the property is adjacent to thousands of undeveloped acres of Manchester Water Works land.

A dedicated team of educators and volunteers provide year-round nature, recreation, and environmental education programs. These include school, youth group, summer and vacation camp, family, community, and adult education opportunities. The Center offers live animal and educational exhibits in classroom, reception area, and auditorium spaces. The Massabesic Wildlife Sanctuary offers wildlife viewing opportunities from its many trails.

Summer Camp is a long standing tradition at NH Audubon and is held at both the McLane Center in Concord and Massabesic Center in Auburn. Camp programs are available to children ranging in age from 4-12 years old.

Many of Hickman's Recycling Magic programs on Recycling in schools and other venues are sponsored by the New Hampshire division of Waste Management, North America's leading provider of integrated environmental solutions.

Manchester native and resident of Dover, New Hampshire, Magician BJ Hickman performs a variety of school assembly programs on Reading, Conflict Resolution, and Recycling. His audience participation magic shows are a staple at many area venues locally including Manchester's Palace Theatre, Hampton Beach Shell Stage, The Deerfield Fair, Cochecho Arts Festival in Dover, and many local libraries and Recreation Departments. Nationally, he performs and lectures at many conventions for magicians, First Night in Boston, and Hollywood's Magic Castle.
