Seacoast Rep Opens 2012 Season With AIN'T MISBEHAVIN'

Seacoast Repertory Theatre starts its 2012 Main Stage Season off with the bang of a drum, the tinkle of  keys and the sounds of  jazz with a production of Ain't Misbehavin': The Fats Waller Musical Show. A Tony Award winner, Ain't Misbehavin' is a treasure of musical showcasing the talent, the stories and subculture of the Jazz era from the 1920-30's. 

In true musical revue style the show features a variety of jazz standards from the golden age of The Cotton Club, Savoy Ballroom, and the Harlem renaissance. The five performers play themselves as they tell the story of Fats Waller's moods and magic through songs of time. 

Ain't Misbehavin' won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1978 after its long time run as a revue off-off –Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club's East 73rdSt. Cabaret. The show features such memorable songs as "Honeysuckle Rose", "Joint is Jumpin'" "Can't Give you Anything But Love", and of the course the title song "Ain't Misbehavin'"

The Rep is proud to feature local talent in addition to some New York-based actors as well. The cast includes Jeremy Giraud Abram, Asia Craft, Kimberly Dora Exum*, Ashley Kelly, and Jerrial Young. Directed and choreographed by Brian Swasey. Music directed by William Asher. Sound design by Rachel Neubauer. Lighting design by Michael Wonson. Set design by Melissa Shakun. Scenic Charge by Jillian Mitchell. Costumes by Tammy Hannon. Production Management by Billy Butler*. Stage Managed by David D'Agostino.
