New reports suggest that an extended first look at the Wicked film, totaling between three and four minutes, will premiere online later this week. The new footage was first shown to ad buyers at Radio City Music Hall on Monday during NBCUniversal's upfront presentation. The footage in question showcased new visual effects as well as the dynamic between Ariana Grande's Glinda and Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba. It reportedly received a 'warm response' from the audience.

NBC will be airing a brand-new behind-the-scenes special, centered on the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked. Headlined by stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, the special will air on November 25, two days before Part One premieres in theaters. In celebration of the generation-defining, cinematic event of the year, international superstars Erivo and Grande will lead an all-star cast in a journey through a dazzling new vision of Oz, created for Universal Pictures’ Wicked.

In a new interview with Variety, Wicked director Jon M. Chu discussed his first meeting with Cynthia Erivo and their time together on the set of the highly anticipated movie. He highlighted the magic of Erivo's performance in the film, specifically citing the powerful anthem Defying Gravity.

Due to enormous demand, four additional weeks of the musical phenomenon WICKED have been released for the Brisbane season up until 17 November, with general public tickets from 10 May.
